We aim to enable individuals and students, who are in possession of their skills and knowledge certificates, to easily share and prove the integrity and legitimacy of chosen certificates to any organization or institution;

The platform provides them a secure digital wallet for their knowledge certificates.

Main

Enable any public or private institution, organization or individual to verify that any received digital certificate by an individual/student is legit.

We aim to reduce paperwork, improve communication between institutions and to simplify certificate management and storage for students. We have also improved and accelerated the certificate verification process.

For institutions

The platform benefits institutions and organizations that organize various formal or informal lectures, workshops and/or trainings and wish to provide the participants with a digital certificate for the acquired knowledge.

At the same time it enables them to share and verify the credibility of certificates already issued by other similar institutions (e.g. Erasmus, Joint-programs etc.).

Technology of the future

Based on blockchain

Our platform is based on blockchain technology, which is fully decentralized. It means that it doesn’t rely on a single point of control, rather it is shared between all nodes. Lack of a single authority makes the system more secure. In case of outage of one of the nodes, the system still stays online and accessible.

The information recorded on the blockchain is near impossible to manipulate due to there being multiple copies that require a complex consensus to be edited. Attacking one node would result in no loss of data since all the information is stored on multiple places.

EduCTX platform uses IPFS distributed storage. Each certificate has a unique fingerprint called a cryptographic hash.

Each network node stores only content it is interested in, and some indexing information that determinates which node is storing what. Network finds nodes storing the content behind a unique hash.

IPFS has no single point of failure, and nodes do not need to trust each other. IPFS is a peer-to-peer distributed file system. It connects all network devices with the same system of files.

EduCTX uses powerful cryptography to give individuals ownership of certificates through a combination of public and private keys, made up of combinations of random numbers and letter.

This solves the issue of stolen identity as addresses are not directly associated with users’ identity. Private keys are even more secure as they are considerably longer.

Blockchain offers a greater level of security to the individual user as it removes the need for weak and easily compromised passwords and online identities.
